Kids & Families at T'chiyah

We pride ourselves on being an intergenerational community, where meaningful relationships can be fostered between congregants of all ages. This, of course, includes the kiddos! Children are welcome to participate in adult religious services, whether sitting in our regular chairs or the couch, pillows and playmats of our Cozy Corner. We strive to be a "No Shushing" community, where kids (and their parents) are not shamed for being a little noisy at services. Across the hall the from our sanctuary is a large restroom with a surface available for baby-changing.

In addition, we provide childcare on Shabbat morning services, a Tot Shabbat service preceding our Friday night service, and a special children's service (tailored for 4-7 year olds) on the 3rd Shabbat of the month. Check out our Service Schedule to learn more.

Parents in the congregation are invited to participate in our Parenting Affinity Group for periodic social gatherings, peer support, and relevant courses like our "Mindful Jewish Parenting" series with Rabbi Alana.

Dor Hadash: Cross-Community Family Education / Hebrew School

We are pleased to partner with Dor Hadash Detroit to provide enriching and inclusive Jewish education for children and families. At Dor Hadash, children learn Jewish tradition, ritual, tikkun olam (healing the world) and connection to place. T'chiyah parents, staff and congregants enjoy an active role in this program, ensuring that our educational offerings are in line with congregational values.
