We are so excited to announce the return of our annual Tikkun Leil Shavuot (night of Shavuot learning) with our friends at the Downtown Synagogue!
Gather with us in the Woodbridge neighborhood of Detroit for an evening of hopping house-to-house for Jewish learning and other workshops, to celebrate our understanding that Torah is an expansive, living body of wisdom that we all have a stake in!
We are planning to have food available for those comfortable from 6-6:45 p.m. at Rabbi Silverman's home.
Where: The program will kick off at 7:00 p.m. at Rabbi Silverman's home. Vetted registrants will be sent specific location info.
This year's sessions will include:
- The Story of Jane and the Book of Ruth: Women's Resistance Through The Ages
- An interactive reading of a play written by 1930s Jewish Anarchists
- The Kabbalistic Origins of Tikkun Leil Shavuot
- Latin Dance 101
- Getting Dirty: Lessons From Clay & Earth - a ceramics workshop
- Text Study: The role of imagination in Jewish practice
- ... and more!
