Our Muslim neighbors have invited us to join them for an iftar - a celebratory Ramadan meal - at the end-of-Passover! Let's break bread together! 🕌
Echoing the Moroccan Jewish holiday of Mimouna (a break-fast celebration of the end of Passover, during which Muslims would shower their Jewish neighbors with treats), we will be sending a group of T'chiyah-niks to the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit in Rochester Hills for iftar. Halal meat and vegetarian options will be served, and we will have opportunities for meaningful connection and conversation. There may be opportunities to participate in Muslim prayer for those interested.
**Our spaces are limited, so please be sure to RSVP as soon as possible to ensure your spot.**
Please plan to arrive at the IAGD (Islamic Association of Greater Detroit), 879 W Auburn Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48307 at 8 PM, so that we can all be acclimated and settled before the iftar / break-fast is served exactly at sundown, set to take place at 8:24 PM ET.
Please note that, as guests at this event, we cannot ensure that masking, social distancing and allergen-prevention practices will take place. Halal meat and vegetarian options will be served.
