The holiday of Shavuot commemorates the reception of the Torah, and is often celebrated with consuming yummy dairy treats like cheesecake! (Why? Naturally, it's complicated!)
Our Kehillah Team is putting on a special event to celebrate the holiday and welcome in the summer together: an ice cream social at Martin Road Park! 🍦😎🎉
Rabbi Alana will share a few words of Torah, and we'll do some activities to get to know each other, but mostly this will be an afternoon for low-key schmoozing and enjoying each others company. We'll provide the ice cream with a truck onsite from Treat Dreams - feel free to bring your own picnic lunch if you'd like!
Kids are welcome and encouraged! We'll be gathering right by the playground, so the kiddos can play with one another while the grown-ups schmooze.
