High Holidays 2021

The month of Elul is almost upon us, serving as a wake-up call to begin our preparations for the New Year and its opening days of reflection, repair and renewal -- a spiritual suite from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur that we call the High Holidays.

And what a year it has been! Together we have navigated - gracefully, clumsily, and bravely - more than a full cycle of the Jewish calendar in our new Pandemic landscape, sharing Shabbats, Passover seder, Torah study, many simchas (joyous occasions) and more.

As we prepare to enter 5782, we invite you to join us once more for online High Holiday services beginning on September 7, with outdoor in-person activities available for members of the congregation on Erev Rosh Hashanah and Rosh Hashanah Day 2.

All are welcome to virtually attend our series of online, justice-pursuing, queer-loving, intergenerational spiritual services, whether you are a member of the Congregation or not. All that we ask is that you please register using this page so that we can ensure that you have everything you need. We will require additional RSVPing for in-person events, which will be open to members of the congregation only - stay tuned.

Services will be broadcast via Zoom, with autogenerated captioning provided. Services are free and open to the public -- we hope that you will consider making a donation to T’chiyah to help offset the extra costs of planning and production in this turbulent time.

Why not all in-person and indoors?

With the spread of COVID’s Delta variant and the rising number of breakthrough cases, it is clear to us that the Pandemic is not over. As hopeful as we’ve been that these High Holidays would involve a glorious return to regular in-person, indoor services, our Reopening Committee has concluded that this is not currently feasible for our community without compromising our values of safety, equity and accessibility. With that in mind, our Religious Services Committee has opted to plan for a main course of engaging, group-led, musical, ONLINE services, with a few options for in-person, outdoor engagement (Erev Rosh Hashanah and Rosh Hashanah Day 2) as well. Thank you for doing your part to keep yourself and our community safe!

⬇️ Whether you plan to attend one or all of the services above, please use the form below to RSVP by August 30. We will send out Zoom details and more information later on. If you have any questions, feel free to email Jake at [email protected] ⬇️
