Services are free and open to all, but registration is required. If you are coming to any service, please RSVP just once, but do RSVP by Sept. 15 so our volunteers can prepare accordingly. See below. For Frequently Asked Questions, please click here.
There is no formal RH Eve service. If you are a member of either congregation and have a seat at your table, or are looking to be hosted, please email [email protected] no later than Sept. 10. If you would like to join a group meeting at a restaurant, also email Roz by Sept. 10. The Downtown Synagogue offers a traditional Erev Rosh Hashana service in Detroit.

In keeping with our annual tradition, we invite you to bring canned/boxed foods or non-perishable household items (i.e. toilet paper, soap) to donate. These will go to Yad Ezra, our local Kosher Food Distribution Center.

Community lunch to follow.
Tashlich: 2:30 @ Milliken Park. Tashlich means "casting off" -- it is a special cleansing ritual involving throwing crumbs of bread into water. We are excited to come together with the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue at the riverfront.
For those with children coming to our services: we will have a person who will mind children during the morning services on Sept. 21 and 22 and Sept. 30. There will not be any children's services, but it will be a place where children can go to play, read, and be generally "minded" during the service. Parents are encouraged to bring a snack for their children.

Yizkor will be conducted sometime between 12 and 1:00 pm

The afternoon will have multiple options for learning and prayer using different modalities.
Mincha and Biblio-improve sessions at 5 pm
Geula will be leading "Our Nineveh: An Exploration of Holiday Themes Using Biblio-Improv"
Meditation session from 5:45 pm to 6:30 pm
Shuffy will be leading "Forgiveness in Practice,” a guided sitting and walking meditation session incorporating themes of teshuva and forgiveness. Beginners welcome!
Hevruta from 6 pm to 6:30 pm
Kosher catered break-fast: 8:00 pm
Study, Mincha, Ma'ariv and Break-fast are in partnership with the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue.
