Introducing Student Rabbi Donna Kirshbaum: Congregation T’chiyah is pleased to announce that Donna Kirshbaum will be its Student Rabbi for the High Holidays and for eight Shabbat weekend visits during this coming year. Ms. Kirshbaum will be entering her last year at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia in September. Before entering rabbinical school, she taught Latin and Ancient Greek in high schools in the Baltimore area. She is also an accomplished cellist and has sung in a number of choral groups. She will be a significant addition to T’chiyah’s community over the next year. “This is a wonderful time,” said T’chiyah president Harold Gurewitz, “to invite Student Rabbi Donna Kirschbaum into our community. Her visits and participation will highlight the year-long 30th anniversary celebration of the founding of our congregation.”
Among activities and events planned is a lecture/discussion series on topics of contemporary importance and interest (to be announced). Daven, sing, study, and learn with T’chiyah members this coming year! Please join us!
Besides the High Holidays (Erev Rosh Hashanah, September 12; Rosh Hashanah, September 13-14, Kol Nidre, September 21and Yom Kippur, September 22), Student Rabbi Donna Kirshbaum’s (tentatively) scheduled weekends are: Oct. 5, Nov. 2, and Dec. 7, 2007, and Jan. 4, Feb. 1, Mar. 21, Apr. 18, 2008.
