HAVUROT

While Congregation T'chiyah is a small congregation, we still have many sub-communities of individuals with similar interests.

We invite you to join our havurot (social groups):

Adult B'nai Mitzvah - Group of adults who never had celebrated a bar or bat mitzvah as teenagers and are interested in pursuing a course of study leading to the B'nai Mitzvah Shabbat. We recently celebrated the B'nai Mitzvah of nine congregants and a new group will be forming in 2012.

Book Club - Meets the second Sunday of each month to discuss a literary selection. Most books have a Jewish theme or a Jewish author. Contact Jane Miller for more information.

Chesed Committee - Arranges meals for congregants who are ill or recently welcomed a new baby, provides shivah meals for the bereaved, organizes hospital visits, and tries to help those among us in need.

Membership Committee - Works to increase the membership of our congregation and presents each new member family with a welcome basket of gifts.
